Jimmy's Cake Smash

Today I took Jimmy's 1st birthday and smash cake photos! I meet him a few months ago when we took some family photos, seen here. This little guy was fun of energy! He was running all over the studio and making us work for the photos.His Mom made this SUPER cute HUGE cupcake! It was awesome!Jimmy was loving it! It was his first time to ever eat anything like this and he seemed to enjoy it. :)And then, just like that, the super cute cupcake was cute no more!

One of my goals this year is to take more photos of my OWN kids! I take pictures of other peoples children all the time and sometimes I forget to take just everyday shots of my own. So here's a few that I wanted to share. The boys were just hanging out in Mommy and Daddy's room the other day and I snapped a couple shots while I had the chance.

Today I headed down to Miramar to take pictures of this beautiful family's homecoming! Homecomings are SO much fun! I get butterflies just like it's my own homecoming. As always it was running late but that actually worked in my favor this time as I had a family obligation this morning, so for once a homecoming being late wasn't a bad thing (well for me at least, haha I can't claim that "N" was loving the delay!)

The "S" Family - Balboa park

I love doing sessions at Balboa park! Even when it's super crowded and there's tons of people everywhere, I still love shooting at Balboa park. The variety you get there is amazing! Last night the "S" family and I headed down to San Diego to get some family photos. I took photos of "G" not too long ago as a newborn (here's that post) and now he's nearly 5 months old already!

Cake Smash!

Smash the cake sessions are always super fun! It's, most likely at least, the first time babies are allowed to go crazy and make as big as a mess as they want. Well during my session last week with "L" she wasn't quite sure if she wanted to be completely messy or not! It took some effort to get her to dig into the cake, but once she started she seemed to enjoy it!

The "B" Family - Oceanside Beach

It has been a cold weekend here in Oceanside! Last night I went out and tried to do a session with one family and it was just too cold to do anything, which is not very normal here in southern California. This morning I meet up with the "B" family down at Oceanside beach. It was pretty chilly but thankfully not quite as bad as yesterday. Instead of making little "E" freeze we walked around downtown Oceanside and took most of our photos there. But I think we got some cute ones and I can't wait to show them some more! Here are a few to hold them over til the rest are down....

The "T" Family - Solana Beach

I had a session this morning with the "T" family! We were scheduled to take photos at the beach but the surf was too high so we did a little improvising and took pictures down around Solana Beach. Their little girls are almost exactly the same age as my boys so if was fun to see how life with two girls might be!

Yesterday I meet up with Bennett and Heather down in La Jolla Beach. I always love going to the beach, it's just so pretty! I tried out a couple new looks on some of these photos and I'm loving it!

Yesterday I had a smash cake session with Mr "T"! Smash cake sessions are so much fun. Most of the time the babies have no idea what to do at first. It's not like they've ever been in front of a whole entire cake before! "T" was fairly calm in the beginning but after a little help he went after the cake and pretty much ate the entire thing!

Today baby "R" came over to the house for newborn pictures. I took pictures of the rest of their family a few months ago while Mom was pregnant, here's that post. Baby "R" did great during the session, I don't even think she cried once! And big sister "A" was very sweet as well, you can tell she really likes being a big sister. Even homecomings that aren't mine I still get excited and have butterflies in my stomach waiting for those buses to come around the corner! Garage Studio!!

Yesterday, my wonderful husband, made me a studio! I was so excited and had to take pictures as soon as he set it up. So I grabbed a pair of Quinn's shoes and snapped a few shots.

Last weekend I was the photographer for Megan and Nick's wedding at the Del Mar beach on Camp Pendleton. It was small ceremony with family and friends. I can't believe Grayson is a year old! This year has seemed to fly by! Last year my husband was deployed when I gave birth to Gray. He came home when he was three months old and meet him for the first time. It was an awesome day!!And now the little guy is a year! We are very blessed to have him in our lives and very thankful to have all the family together to celebrate.
